What Drives SWOT Hunter?
We Live in Dynamic
Times
While the world we know changes daily,
moment by moment, change appears to be occurring at a quicker rate.
There are a number of theories that appear to support this apparent
dynamic, a number of the theories revolve around increased global communications
that allow people to communicate and express ideas that foment change within
nanoseconds. These communications
cross international borders, escaping most monitoring services at an
unbelievable rate. At first, the
change may only be like an underwater tremor in that the center of the change
may escape notice other than a small ripple.
However, as the change continues to ripple and gain momentum the change
may turn into a tsunami. The
impacts of change can be devastating.
Examples of Change
and the Impacts of Change
Such changes result in the
overthrowing of governments such as the
Arab Spring in 2011, to Occupy
Wall Street Movements of 2011, or even the identification of new economic
streams/patterns/shifts such as those recognized in Richard Florida’s books,
The Rise of the Creative Class: And How It's
Transforming Work, Leisure, Community, and Everyday Life,
The Great Reset: How the Post-Crash Economy Will
Change the Way We Live and Work and
Who's Your City?: How the Creative Economy Is Making
Where to Live the Most Important Decision of Your Life.
Recognizing Change
The results of these changes vary, some positive/some
negative, but change occurs regardless.
The point here is that if we fail to recognize change by not improving
our own Situational Awareness (SA), we may fail to recognize Strengths,
Weaknesses, Opportunities or Threats (SWOT).
If we fail in having a SWOT-based Situational Awareness we will be unable
to adapt to changing situations as they develop.
An example of this are the current economic challenges many in the US are
facing today; too many a surprise- a Threat, but to those situationally aware-
an expected time whereby they postured themselves years ago to reap rewards
today- an Opportunity.
Hence SWOT Hunter
The site SWOT Hunter represents one person’s approach to
identifying and recognizing change; about adapting to change; about exposing
change to oneself and for others for purposes of shared situational awareness
which could lead one to take action. The
site intends to identify triggers that can result in change, some immediate,
some long term. Immediate changes
may be in the form of new means to make money; long term issues may refer to
issues such the drug cartel problem based in Mexico that is crossing over into
the United States that may impact small town USA in terms of
gangs and or
corrupting our own police which can contribute to the breakdown of American
society. The changes may be
political, economic, scientific, military, educational, etc…
